Review: Best Western Plus Landmark Inn, Lincoln City, OR

Best Western Plus Landmark Inn Lincoln City OregonThis summer my family and I stayed at the Best Western Plus Landmark Inn, located in Lincoln City, Oregon. I found a great deal online with travelocity.com and chose this particular hotel due to the free breakfast and indoor swimming pool (an absolute must, for my kids). Although this hotel is not on the beach, it’s much cheaper than the beachfront hotels and it’s newly remodeled with air conditioning. Plus, it’s a very short drive to the beautiful beach and I love that the Lincoln City beaches have free parking! Lincoln City is a lot less crowded than Cannon Beach and it feels more quaint. There are a lot of great independent coffee shops in Lincoln City so a great mocha is never far away.
Lincoln City Beach BonfireThe food offerings are plenty with eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, hash browns, pastries, breads, juices, coffee, milk and make-your-own waffles. It can get pretty busy during the breakfast hours and it can get crowded. They do have trays so that you can take your food to your room.
The bathrooms are small and I wasn’t a fan of the shampoo and soap dispenser in the shower. It smelled very fruity like candy and I would really recommend bringing your own shampoo and soap. There is a mini frig but be sure to adjust the thermostat so your food and drinks stay cold, since the frig is set on the lowest setting. We stayed in a decent-sized room with 2 queen beds and a small living room. Being on the third floor, we had a partial view of the bay, which we ended up visiting on our last day. I wish I had known about that sooner because a lot of folks had bonfires going and the beach is scattered with driftwood that the kids loved climbing.
For the price, this is a decent hotel that is kid-friendly. Be sure to check out the free travel newspapers in the lobby for coupons to local restaurants.
