Costco Sale: Duracell Durabeam Ultra 2-Pack Wireless LED Under-Cabinet Lights $16.99

Duracell Durabeam Ultra 2-Pack Under Cabinet LED Lights
*UPDATE* 11/29/14.
Costco has the Duracell Durabeam Ultra 2-Pack Wireless LED Under-Cabinet Lights on sale again for $16.99 (after manufacturer’s instant rebate), now through December 8, 2014. That is $3 off Costco’s regular price of $19.99.

The Duracell Durabeam Ultra Wireless LED Under-Cabinet Light fits practically anywhere wireless light is required. You can choose to turn it on manually or set the motion detector. Mounting hardware and batteries are included.

I did end up buying this light and it works ok as a task light in the kitchen. I wish it were brighter. The motion detector does not work as well as I had hoped so I just turn it on manually when I need it.

Thanks for the review. A photo of the lights in action would’ve been nice too!

I also find the motion sensors unreliable and that’s one of the more important features I wanted. Unable to reach Duracell customer service by phone. Any similar experience or suggestions?

    • Hi Joe. The motion sensor feature is a big disappointment. I would wave my hand directly in front of the sensor and it worked about 10% of the time. Since I use it as task lighting in the kitchen, I find it easier to turn it on when I need it.
That’s unfortunate that you were unable to reach Duracell by phone. Maybe you can contact them through Facebook or Twitter.

It looks like it has to be completely dark before they work (and then I’m not sure how well they work) so really isn’t going to be what I needed. As far as not being able to reach duracell, I found that duracell has their name on products that either they don’t own or else they have farmed out – I had problems with a backup battery device and the phone numbers didn’t go to a valid number, and when I called the main duracell number they didn’t know anything. I’m probably taking these back to Costco – it’s a good price but if I have to turn on manually, I’d rather use the plug in ones that are more reliable (and better overall lighting – I did find these had three pintpoint light areas rather than one larger area covered).
