I’ve received a lot of emails about this product so I went to Costco to check on it. Apparently, the Golden Select Mediterranean Fusion is being replaced by the Golden Select Tuscan Glass and Stone Mosaic Tile. They look pretty similar with travertine from Turkey and Emperador marble from Spain. Is it just the same tile with just a name change? I don’t really know.
The new Tuscan tile actually comes 6 in a box instead of 5 in a box like the Mediterranean Fusion does and will cover 6 square feet. It currently is priced at $29.99 but will hopefully go on sale in the future.
It’s always good to overbuy and then return the unused boxes rather than to run out and have to wait weeks for a restock. With Costco, you also never know when they will just stop carrying the product.
You may want to experiment with small sections of the tile and try out different shades of grout. When we put in the Mediterranean Fusion tile last year, we tried several grout shades and ended up going with a light beige grout, rather than a white grout. I’m still in awe of how the tile makes a big impact in our tiny kitchen.
