This is my weekly series that will keep you up to date on what’s new at Costco, what deals are ending soon and other good things.
One new item I spotted at Costco this week is the Coop Hydro Turbine Football & Basketball Set. I don’t think that my son ever leaves the house without a football and this Hydro football with its waterproof cover works great for those days at the beach or in the pool. It’s a comfortable size for most older kids and the laces provide a good grip. The football and basketball come in a fun design in either blue or green. It’s on sale for $14.99, now through June 21, 2015, while supplies last.
I went to Costco on the first day of the Costco June Coupon Book sale Thursday and it was a madhouse with everyone was stocking up on sale items. My cart was filled with Softsoap Liquid Hand Soap, Aleve, Charisma Down Alternative Pillow, Palmolive Liquid Dish Soap, all Free & Clear Liquid Laundry Detergent, Chobani Greek Yogurt and Kirkland Signature Caesar Salad. I didn’t need to buy any Life cereal since I overbought the last time it went on sale.
One item I did want to highlight from the June Coupon Book is the Harmonics Laminate Flooring. I have probably received the most emails about this item with people asking me to help them find just one more box since they were short a few planks. Costco keeps a limited supply on hand and the styles offered change frequently. The other tricky thing is that Harmonics Laminate is only sold at Costco. If you are planning to purchase some laminate flooring, overbuy (keep your receipt) and then return what you don’t need.

For those of you shopping at the Covington, WA Costco, check out Yancy’s Fancy Cheese roadshow this weekend. My favorite is the Cheddar Cheese Curds, which are bursting with salty cheesiness. It comes in a 2.5 pound bag for $13.99, which sounds like a dangerous amount of cheese. Other cheeses include: Smoked Gouda ($5.99/lb), Horseradish Cheddar ($5.99/lb), Buffalo Cheddar ($5.99/lb), Champagne Cheddar ($5.99/lb), Natural Gouda ($4.69/lb), and Chastinet ($4.69/lb). The Chastinet is a “sharp and snappy Asiago style cheese”.
Check out the Rwanda Partners Basket products roadshow as well this weekend at Covington Costco. Gorgeous handmade fruit bowls, trivets, necklaces and more, provide women in Rwanda and Uganda an opportunity to work and earn more money for their products than they would garner at their local market. The bead necklaces and bracelets are handmade from used or recycled paper using non-toxic water based varnish. Baskets can be purchased separately or as a package.
