If you’re a huge Costco fan or a collector of all the variations of Monopoly games, then the new Costco Wholesale Monopoly board game might be just for you. What a fun way to commemorate Costco’s 40 years as a shopping destination! The artwork is colorful and playful and is apparently drawn by a Costco super-fan.
It has 2 ribbon loops to make it easier to pull out the game board and organizer.
The Costco Monopoly board game comes with a nice organizer to keep game pieces stored. It can also be used during game play to keep the property cards lined up in the back slots of the organizer.
The Costco Monopoly game comes with 2 dice (one red and one blue with Costco Wholesale logo) and 6 special edition die-cast metal tokens (shopping cart, pallet jack, pizza slice, hot dog and soda combo, mini version of the 93″ bear, and a gold colored Costco employee name badge).
The game also includes a game rules booklet, 2 pallets (designed to hold the Gold Star Member “Chance” cards and Executive Member “Community Chest” cards), 32 food court tables (aka “houses”) and 12 Costco warehouses (aka “hotels”).
At the bottom of the box, you’ll find the banker’s money tray, Monopoly money, title deed cards, and mini plastic pallets.
The Monopoly money in this version is bold and colorful with more great artwork and is thicker than traditional Monopoly money.
The Costco Wholesale Gold Star Member cards are equivalent to “Chance” cards and the Costco Wholesale Executive Member cards are equivalent to “Community Chest” cards from original Monopoly. Instead railroad properties, the Costco version offers Costco departments: bakery, meat/deli, gas station, and tire center. Instead of utility properties, the Costco version has health centers: optical and pharmacy.

Everyone starts at ‘Go’. If you land on Costco Executive Member, you select that card from the pile. It’s equivalent to the “Community Chest” card from the original Monopoly game.
If you land on Costco Gold Star Member, you select that card from the pile. It’s equivalent to the “Chance” card from the original Monopoly game. Instead of “Go to Jail” in the original Monopoly game, in the Costco version, you get to go on vacation instead.
There’s no “Free Parking” in this Monopoly game. Instead you have, “Free Samples”, which doesn’t get you anything in the game. My family has enhanced the game by adding our own twist. If someone lands on Free Samples, they can choose from some real sample snacks from my pantry that we prepare ahead of time. It’s a popular place to land!
The “Go On Vacation” spot on this game sends you directly to “On Vacation”, without passing “Go” and without collecting $200.
